Steven Slate’s signature drumkits are a no brainer for the seasoned pro and hobbyist alike. What kind of drum kit does Steven Slate use? Los Angeles based producer, mixer, and engineer who has worked with Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Celine Dion, Slipknot and many others. Some people love Slate since the Virtual Mix Rack offers great value for those happy with subscribing – the plugins themselves are almost all very well done and they’re backed up by lots of training materials/demos. So I’m now routing all the others to a either a stereo or mono track. What I’m now also realising is that the mixer in SSD was not routed, so only the Overhead channel was showing up/moving in Reaper because it was at default on stereo track 1. What I’ve realised is that I had to select FX on the SSDSampler5 track and add a kit through there. However I’ve now been sat here for hours, just looking back through your videos and just giving things a try, using a bit of common sense as well, and have managed to work out a few things (it’s already after 2am Sunday morning where I am haha.) That stage I was able to do, it was more about what exactly to do with the template. What am I doing wrong? Have I saved the template wrong or is there a step I’ve missed to have Steven Slate saved as virtual instrument within Reaper? Hope you can help. Even when I open the MIDI panel, load the Names and even programme something in, there is no sound.

I can select it and it brings up all the tracks/channels but the Steven Slate panel doesn’t pop up and I don’t understand how to get any sound of this. Under “Load track template”, it just has the SSD 5.5 Multi. I don’t have an “Instruments” subfolder when doing “insert track from template”. However, when I try to load the template, Steven Slate does not pop up.

I am on Windows 10 and I’ve downloaded both Reaper and the SSD 5 Free version and the SSD template and the MIDI Names that you have provided. I am trying to use the template and am also going through some of the other videos, but something isn’t quite right. I tried leaving a comment and it says it was a duplicate.
